I had three quilts made for my wife's three children. We lost her to cancer at the young age of 59. The quilts were made from t-shirts she had bought during all the various trips we had taken together. Interspersed amongst those shirts, I had intermingled several of her favorite shirts that she would wear often. It was extremely emotional for me to see the quilts. I'm going to give them to her children as Christmas gifts. I am very pleased by the way the quilts have turned out. This will be our first Christmas without her but these quilts will always be a reminder of the wonderful times we had together. Thanks memorystitch.

I could not be happier with my purchase. My son passed away 5 years ago. I've been holding on to his favorite shirts, trying to find something creative to do with them. I came across Memory Stitch, although reluctant to ship the shirts in fear of them getting lost in transit, I bit the bullet. I ordered my 16 panel lap blanket on 06/23/24. The process was amazing. I received updated emails from Memory Stitch every step of the way. When they received my package, when my order shipped and when it was delivered. I received my blanket within 10 days of placing the order. Once received, I opened the package to find the blanket neatly folded with a ribbon tied around it like a present, and there was a card, thanking me for allowing them to stitch my memories. The compassion that I felt from that one simple sentence brought tears to my eyes. It somehow felt like an understanding of the difficulty I had in sending my sons belongings to them in the first place. Once I unfolded the blanket, I was so happy to see the final product. The craftsmanship was excellent, as well as the T-shirt placement. I am so truly happy that I trusted this company with my memories. Thank you so much.

My experience ended up being really negative. My parcels were delivered to the wrong address and both FEDEX and memory stitch didn’t take responsibility. I had to leave work Early to deal with finding the parcels, losing money. I had to cancel a specialist app which cost me Money. I had to Go all The way to my old House to find the parcels were not there. I had to then track down the realestate. Who then had to track down the parcels which I then had to pick up in a town 40mins from me. The emotional distress it caused me due to these shirts for

I haven’t seen them since early 2020, but occasionally I get a text from my son, and we are starting to form a new path. Sam starts college this fall at Washington State and I cannot be more proud of him
This blanket is a nod to the story of every thing he means to me. Starting with the flag of the State of Ohio he was born in, and then a t-shirt of the Akron Aeros who won the Eastern League the year he was born, to Goodnight Moon his favorite book. To Green Eggs and Ham, which of course a boy named Sam loved. To the shirt I wore when I took him to his first Major League baseball game (and he had a matching one) To Mario Kart and Minecraft which were the first video games he got inspired by. To Mickey Mouse and Pizza Planet which we saw at Disney World. To Pixar characters including ones from Up which was the first movie he saw in a theater. To Marvel Superhero’s where he’d tug at my sleeve and point out “Stan Lee!!!!” To the state flag of Oregon when we moved to the Pacific Northwest and the Oregon Trail shirt that he got me for Fathers Day (and had been stained from yardwork) To the Mariners game he went to with his friend and the Mariners/Astros games we went to on Boys Weekends every summer. To Star Wars and Lego Star Wars which we shared together. To the 2017 Houston Astros World Series where my lifelong fan ship was rewarded and we cried happy tears of joy. To the Xbox controller that controlled his life for a while there. To the state flag of Hawaii where we spent two glorious vacations together and a souvenir shirt from one of them. To the TV shows, Friends and Impractical Jokers which we would watch together and laugh. To Abraham Lincoln, where, on what turned out to be our last family vacation, I watched him grow into a scholar after being inspired both at Fords Theater and the Lincoln Memorial.
After that, it’s all post pandemic and post me. He went to Israel and experienced things there, most important is that there should be some communication. Then there is Peaky Blinders… I asked him for recommendations for what shows he likes and this is one I’ve particularly enjoyed. The last two are the state flag is Washington and a Washington State t-Shirt where he will attend in the fall.
This quilt is about love. This quilt is about him going to Pullman where it’s very cold in the winter and I hope he wraps himself in this blanket and understands how much I love him, despite all of the not so good parts. That it’s a celebration of a journey that truly has just started. And each square represents my hopes and dreams that life is full of the love we have to share.
It has been my privilege and catharsis to build this quilt for him…. Acquiring the shirts, sacrificing my own, and trying to tell a story about how much a child means to a parent
